Below you will find the Italian restaurants that I’ve eaten at while gluten free in the Nashville area, including restaurants that are known mostly for their pizza. Since pizza is my favorite, check back often to see my most recent finds! As always, the information below is s accurate as possible at the time of posting. Please check with each restaurant before dining to ensure it meets your dietary needs
Blaze Pizza – fast, casual dining in Brentwood that offers gluten free pizza dough and salads. They do ask you if you have an allergy as they will change gloves and prepare on a separate surface. The dough is very thin, but good!
Italia – casual Italian restaurant in East Nashville that prides itself on fresh, sustainable ingredients and their gluten free and vegan options. Imagine my surprise, two years into being gluten free when an in depth internet search led me here! Their gluten free crust is not only gluten free but also dairy and egg free. We had a gluten free pizza, gluten free ravioli, and gluten free cheese bread. I was not in love with the pizza, but the ravioli was delicious. I’ve heard their gluten free chocolate cake is divine but I was too stuffed from all the other to even consider it.
Mangia – the best Italian restaurant located in the 8th Ave South neighborhood with a menu that does denote gluten free options. This is literally what all my gluten free Italian food dreams are made of. Yes, even comparable to Nizza in NYC. I can’t think of another restaurant in Nashville that is as understanding and accommodating to a gluten intolerance or allergy quite like Mangia. I’ve had a lot of their food as we’ve been to two weekend feasts and have eaten there during the week, too. I highly recommend their focaccia bread, the caprese pizza, and the zeppoles for dessert.
Mellow Mushroom – casual pizza joint with three locations in the Nashville area that denotes gluten free items on the menu and offers a gluten free crust. My favorite pizza, hands down, is the Kosmic Karma. There are lots of locations of Mellow Mushroom all throughout the southeast.
